Enhance community service by students partnering with lecturers and service by lecturers partnering with students. This is an old program, but it needs to be revived. This kind of PMM model now has a good opportunity. The MBKM program launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology provides broad opportunities for this model.
Community service in partnership with each other, both by lecturers and students, for the next two or three years will become the main model of community service activities at UMM. It needs awareness from lecturers and students to develop it.
As per the scheme established by the Chancellor, community service activities that receive funding from the campus must partner with students. A minimum of 3 students are involved in each proposal. The more lecturers who propose service programs, the more students will be involved and at the same time carry out PMM.
Community service carried out by lecturers, both schemes funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology as well as internal schemes at UMM, requires them to partner with students. Therefore, students can take the initiative to run their PMM program in partnership with lecturers.
To carry out community service activities well, it is impossible for lecturers to work alone. DPPM Director, Prof. Latipun Ph.D., emphasized that partnering with students is the best way. The programs created by students receive reviews from their lecturers. On the other hand, by partnering, service programs prepared by lecturers can be implemented together with students.
More than that, it is hoped that transformational service will occur in partnership with lecturers and students. Students can learn how community service activities can be carried out and integrated with the results of lecturers' research. So it is hoped that the program will be more long-term, provide benefits to society, and show results.

How to do it? Two options can be made. Through the service scheme, lecturers look for students who are willing to partner. Students who are willing to partner directly register for the service program at DPPM in accordance with the provisions. The second way is for students to look for lecturers who are willing to partner with them. If you have found a partner (lecturer), students can register at DPPM as potential PMM participants.
Currently the community service activity scheme has begun. Students or lecturers can look for suitable partners to mutually support community service programs. References for partner service activities can be seen in the Student Community Service Guidelines. It explains the requirements that must be fulfilled by students and lecturers.
