Submission of Batch 1 research and service proposals has closed in the next week. Now open for the second batch. Lecturers who have not submitted a proposal can immediately upload it until July 1 2023. The terms and conditions are the same as in accordance with the UMM Research and Community Service Activities guidelines.
Proposals submitted in batch 1 are being prepared for review. If it is good then it can continue with funding for research activities and community service. However, if improvements are needed, you are required to attend a workshop which will be held next month.
The review will be seen in terms of originality, relevance of the topic to current and scientific issues, clarity of research objectives, technical writing, and suitability of outcomes. The research program starting this year is emphasized to increase the contribution of lecturers in collaboration, publications and UMM's academic reputation.
One of the things that lecturers proposing research and service needs to understand is the classification of types of research. As stipulated in the research guidelines, there are three types of research, namely basic research, applied research and development research. This type of research is not determined by its title, but its achievements. For example, development research is carried out if applied research has previously been carried out several times, and is currently being partnered with policy makers to be applied on a wide scale.
